For what remains of humanity, Avenging Angels are hardened soldiers that represent the very best Grimme and the Church of Lost Angels can field against their enemies. They’re tougher, meaner, and more experienced than your average Guardian Angel. Yours was one of the very best until he learned something he shouldn’t have: the church he had put his heart and eternal soul into was a lie.

Your Templar was assigned to guard a high ranking Church official, Caroline DeCarlo, one of the 13 Elders and official church liaison to the T’Romm Industries Corporation. Ms. DeCarlo was overseeing the expansion of a T’Romm Industries research facility on a Lost Angels colony world. Soon after the project was begun, the construction workers and settlers began developing a techno-organic virus and strange humanoid machines started attacking the builders with increasing frequency. This wasting disease would transform living flesh into a synthetic alloy until the patient was nothing but a mindless terminator – the attacking machines.

Seeking to put an end to the attacks and the virus as well, your Angel worked tirelessly to uncover the truth. He eventually learned that the T’Romm Industries scientists were intentionally infecting the settlers to learn the effects of the virus, and not only that, but the Church knew of the experiments.

Bursting into Ms. DeCarlo’s personal quarters demanding answers, you unwittingly uncovered an even greater secret. The Elder was completing a satanic ritual in which she was removing and eating the heart of a young colonist, while a pair of ungodly demons looked on, pleasuring themselves. Appalled and disgusted you went to work hacking these abominations to pieces, but in the firefight DeCarlo was able to inject you with a much more powerful strain of the techno-organic virus. Feeling the nanites in your left arm and working their way up to your brain, you felt the Hand of God and were infused with a holy light and divine purpose. You beheaded Elder DeCarlo and banished the demons that had already begun to reform.

Barely escaping the world, your crusader has sworn to purge the Church of Lost Angels of all of its corruption, and return humanity to the light. Nothing will keep him from that goal. To this end, you have been investigating a plot that the Church is undertaking with T’Romm Industries, known only as the “Thundera Project,” and have recently learned that one of the major players in this venture is none other than Caroline DeCarlo. But she can’t still be alive, can she?
